Throughout the female establishment phase of the Clanfield Texel flock we have purchased some exceptional breeding lines from various top flight flocks. We’ve invested heavily in quality genetics with a view to offering top drawer ewe lambs and shearling ewes for sale from home.

Having had the pleasure of judging the Longtown Ladies Sale, we were delighted to be able to come home with the champion from the sale at 4500gns.

Out of Robert Cockburn’s Knap pen, this one is a Sportsmans Cannon Ball daughter out of a dam by Clinterty Yuga Khan and was purchased in-lamb to New View Electrifying.

AULDHOUSEBURN BYZ2025864

Another addition to our flock came at the Select Seven Sale at Lanark, when we bought the day’s second top priced gimmer, the first of the day from Alan Blackwood’s Auldhouseburn flock, BYZ2025864.

She’s by the homebred Auldhouseburn Corky and out of an Allanfauld dam by Garngour Yeltsin. She was purchased in-lamb to Saltcotes E Class. We can’t wait to see how this female compliments the Auldhouseburn bloodlines in the flock.

Purchased at the Select Seven sale 2020 for 10,000gns. Sired by Knock Banker and out of a Cowal Vogue sired dam, she’s full sister to the 30,000gns Crackerjack

This Knockem Abracadabra daughter is out of a dam by Strathbogie Untouchable and was purchased for 4000gns.

A consistent breeder she has been successfully flushed with six daughters retained and sons sold to a top of 1250gns at the Main NSA Ram Sale, Builth Wells in 2021. Another son is currently stock sire at the Chedworth flock.

GRANITE IGM1927511

Purchased in partnership with the Chedworth flock for 13,000gns at the English National Sale 2020, this powerful ewe carries a super carcass and great breed character. She’s a daughter of Clinterty Yuga and is out of a Deveronvale Warrior daughter.

She has been flushed successfully, with embryos implanted in 2021 by both Sportsmans Daredevil and the 100,000gns Auldhouseburn Expression.

Auldhouseburn Clementine BYZ1922937

Privately purchased from the Blackwood family’s Auldhouseburn flock, this stunning ewe is by the 125,000gns Sportsmans A Star and is out of the noted Cowal ewe, CKC1000201, which has bred so well for the Auldhouseburn flock.

She has also been successfully flushed to Auldhouseburn Expression and Sportsmans Daredevil.

Auldhouseburn Blackspot

This stunning ewe carries a great carcass and is full of character. A half share was purchased privately and she has been successfully flushed to both Auldhouseburn Expression and Sportsmans Daredevil.

This full sister to the noted ram Hexel Born To Be Wild is by Plasucha All Star and out of the Hexel flock’s renowned Irish import ewe by Duncryne Uber Cool. She is dam of the £6000 ewe lamb Clanfield Duchess, sold to Irish breeder Jonny Cubbitt.

Texel sale leader at the Here Come The Girls Sale 22, by Hope Valley C The Stars and sold for 1000gns.

Plasucha – BFE1707067

By Eden Valley Wizz Kid, this exceptional ewe is out of a dam by Fairywater Valiant and goes back to a Connachan ewe by Baltier Rascal I. This 2017-born ewe continues to breed well with a number of daughters retained in the flock.

STRATHBOGIE IJS1802825

By the imported Greenstar Alfie, this Strathbogie ewe is out of a dam by Aman Vyrnwy and was reserve champion at the English National Sale, Worcester, when bought for 6200gns. This another ewe with a great carcass which continues to breed well in the flock.

This Haltcliffe ewe is from the proven breeding family behind both Haltcliffe Jaguar and Haltcliffe Jackpot and is by the 14,000gns Tima Yogi Bear. She carries exceptional breed character and has left a number of quality daughters.

Hope valley - ERH1900452

A full sister to Hope Valley C The Stars which is breeding so well for us and a number of other flocks, this Deveronvale Aftershock daughter was purchased privately as a gimmer having seen the potential in this breeding line in the first crop of lambs by C The Stars.

Another Plasucha ewe from a proven family, this one is a full sister to the 32,000gns Plasucha Big Gun, being by Plasucha All Star and out of a dam by Kelso Wiseman. Daughters by the 17,000gns Sportsmans Desert Star show great potential.

By Knock Yankee, this super ewe is a consistent breeder, being dam of Plasucha Copycat and also a ewe lamb sold for 2000gns at the inaugural Friday Night Lights sale, Carlisle. A number of retained daughters are now in the flock.

A maternal sister to Plasucha All Star, this ewe by Fairywater Valiant has bred consistently and is dam of a number of high quality females coming through the flock, including the best gimmer in the 2021 crop.
