Alongside a vast array of AI tups used within the flock, our past stock tup, Hope Valley C The Stars has bred some fantastic females with sons and daughters sold privately off farm. Our latest exciting purchase is the 100,000gns Auldhouseburn Expression, purchased at Lanark in 2021 from Hugh and Alan Blackwood. Sired by the 2020 sale topper at Lanark, the 350,000gns Sportsmans Double Diamond, he’s out of a dam by the 130,000gns Rhaeadr Best of the Best.
Adding more strength to our sire team this year is the highest price ram of the year, the 100,000gns Auldhouseburn Expression, which we bought at the Scottish National Sale, Lanark.
Bred by Hugh and Alan Blackwood at Muirkirk in Ayrshire, Expression is by the world record priced 350,000gns Sportsmans Double Diamond and out of a dam by the 130,000gns Rhaeadr Best of the Best, with his dam’s full sister having previously sold for 40,000gns and his dam selling for 13,000gns in 2020.
Having viewed Expression at home earlier in the summer we knew he was the right tup to take the flock forward and we believe he will knit well with our females, particularly our Hope Valley C The Stars daughters.
Combining breed character with a great carcass and superb locomotion we have high hopes for Expression and look forward to his lambs in the spring.
Purchased jointly with the Usk Vale flock for 24,000gns, C The Stars is a Sportsmans Belter son and his dam sired by Clinterty Yogi Bear a maternal sister to the 130,000gns Sportsmans A Star. C The Stars is continuing to breed extremely well and producing consistent males and females having sired ewe lambs to 6000gns at the Twilight sale and ram lambs to 1500gns. Very excited about this years crop of lambs from him, showing tremendous growth and style.
